I think its the part about trading known MLB contributing players for unproven, and most likely, non-contributing players.
Or it's not keeping players to win now, and banking on thge unguaranteed future performance of teams in five years that probably will not be any good.

Typical. Why would you het rid of a player that gets off to a hot start and contributes heavily to winning games? It seems to me that all anybody here wants is a constant stream of trades that eventually would degrade to entire organization. At some point the Indians need to identify great or good players and pay them, not constantly look to unload expensive ones for unproven talent.

Geez! Let's see now...Had they did what I proposed and traded him for a prospect, despite his hot bat, where would they have finished? Hmmmm! Oh yeah, since he didn't contribut from May on, I guess we would probably have finished in 1st place.
Now where would we have been at this point? Let's see.....Ah, oh yeah! 3.5 million dollars less on the payroll with a prospect that might be competing for a job.
So what part of this don't you get?

Since when has Cordero ever been a real contributor to this team? He's never been anything more than mediocre for us.
How can you actually say that he's an established known quantity who is worth the money he is making. How can you actually sit there and believe he will help this team to a WS, because your comments are leading that way.

Why do we really care about Cordero? Maybe he will play well, maybe not. There are two givens 1) He is taking at bats from a number of players with potential - Branyan, Garcia, McDonald etc..... and 2) Nobody apparently wants to trade for him...... Release him, eat part of the contract and maybe we will get the same break the orioles got when we took Anderson....... In any event it would be like a trade of wil for brady

And this leaves who exactly as the right handed bat off the bench? McDonald? Cabrera? Or how about who plays when Charlie wants to sit Thome down against a lefty pitcher?

I guess what I'm asking is....doesn't it seem like Wil would rather be elsewhere than playing baseball?

This just in from a Roger Brown column.....
A recent sighting:
New York Mets slugger Mo Vaughn, trailed by an entourage of Cleveland's top exotic dancers, at the downtown Spy Bar. Vaughn was in town last weekend hanging out with dead-weight Indians utilityman Wil Cordero; the two were teammates in Boston. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

If, in his contract year, Cordero is stupid enough to pull garbage like that and it continues to effect his play on the field then he will pay for it when no one offers him a contract.

You forgot...he has Moorad the Magician as his agent right?

I don't even think Moorad is that good.
